Long-serving Winkhaus NE project manager Trevor Riley retires

Winkhaus has announced the retirement in February of its second longest-serving employee and North East Project Manager, Trevor Riley after nearly 25 years.

Trevor joined the leading hardware specialist in November 1993 one year after the company became established in the UK with its headquarters in Kettering, Northamptonshire.

He commented: “One of the high points for me, and indeed the whole company, has been the introduction of automatic locking, which has transformed the residential door market. Winkhaus has always been at the forefront of innovation; from secure double door locking through to today’s automatic electronic locks, such as the AV2 and AV2E.”

Trevor added: “It has been a pleasure to work for Winkhaus and I would like to thank all my colleagues for the years of fun and success during my employment.”

Mike Rushen, National Sales Manager comments: “Trevor’s depth of knowledge about the industry and Winkhaus product range has assured the company’s success in the North East.

We wish him all the best for a long and happy retirement.”

Taking over from Trevor in the growing North East area is Ollie Safhill, who joined Winkhaus in July 2016 as Business Development Executive. He will continue to focus on introducing Winkhaus’ innovative products to new customers.

Ollie said: “As one of the market leaders, Winkhaus offers a broad range of modern locking systems providing high-security solutions. I am looking forward to building on Trevor’s achievements and growing our presence further in the North East.”
