The event will be hosted by Matt Le Tissier, the former Southampton and England footballer who is now the star of Sky Sports’ ‘Gillette Soccer Saturday’ and a columnist for skysports.com.

Matt will kick off proceedings with anecdotes from his sporting career before introducing key speakers from the flooring industry. Delegates will hear how the scheme, founded in 2009 by leading flooring manufacturers Polyflor and Altro, works with the supply chain to divert vinyl flooring waste from landfill – more than 2,700 tonnes to date.

Material collected by Recofloor’s 650-plus membership is recycled back into products, including new flooring, which benefits the environment and can reduce collectors’ waste disposal costs by up to 70%.

Matt will present trophies and certificates to Recofloor members who have excelled across eight award categories and contributed to increasing volumes of vinyl flooring waste being diverted from landfill.

Members can enter any of the following categories; Contractor of the Year, Distributor of the Year, Construction Project of the Year, Recofloor Champion and Drop-Off Site User of the Year. The deadline for entries is Wednesday January 13th 2016.

Highly-valued by the supply chain, competition for the awards is keen. Entry is made easier via the online interactive system that can be found on the new website; www.recofloor.org. Members can submit details online of why their company should be nominated for an award. They can also nominate an individual who champions the scheme within their company for the Recofloor Champion award.

The other categories are Greatest Improvement; Best Newcomer and Outstanding Achievement, plus Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards, which all reward members’ commitment, contribution and achievements in 2015.

Urging members to ‘save the date’, Recofloor’s Carla Eslava says the much-anticipated event offers a great opportunity to network, share expert knowledge and learn more about how the scheme can work for them.

“The Annual Awards is the high point in Recofloor’s calendar and we very much look forward to celebrating our achievements with both existing and new members in March,” adds Carla.

Members can register for the event, which is free of charge and includes lunch and refreshments, via this link: http://www.recofloor.org/awards2016.php. More information on Recofloor can be found on www.recofloor.org.  Contact 0161 355 7618 or email info@recofloor.org.
